Microblading Questions

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a technique used to create, recreate, redesign and enhance eyebrows through the use of pigment places in the skin. Unlike other techniques, microblading can give a natural look.

Is microblading called something else?

Yes, microblading has several different names. It is sometimes called eyebrow embroidery or 3D eyebrow sculpting.

What does microblading involve?

Microblading involves the use of very fine blades to deposit hairlike stokes of pigment into the skin. It is a refined form of tattooing developed in Asia. However, unlike regular tattooing, the pigment is deposited close to the top level of the skin and therefore it is able to hold a finer level of detailing. The strokes of the microblading technique allows for fine, hair-line marks.

You can book an appointment by getting in contact with me, either by phoning directly on: 07771 755 051, using the contact page at the following link (Click Here!) or emailing me directly with: katiemason@eyebrow-artist.com

Can I have a treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
No, unfortunately you can not have a treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Who benefits from microblading?

Microblading results in a natural look, with hair-like stroked. Anybody wanting their eyebrows restyled can benefit from the procedure. This includes people suffering from trichotillomania, alopecia, over plucked eyebrows or similar conditions involving the loss of hair.

Is microblading safe?

Microblading is considered a safe procedure when undertaken by a trained practitioner.

Is microblading painful?

Katie uses 8% numbing cream so you would usually no feel a thing! It actually hurts more to pluck your eyebrows!

What does microblading feel like?

Because we use 8% numbing cream the actual Microblading procedure should not hurt, however some sensitivity may occur after the treatment once the numbing cream has worn off, this would usually only last an hour.

What colour will my eyebrows be?

Katie with her wealth of experience will colour match your new eyebrows to your natural brow hair or if there’s no hair she will carefully create a colour for you.

Please note, your eyebrows will initially be darker but will fade once healed. The pigment will then push back through around week 3 to give the true colour and retainment.

Treatment Questions

What do I have to do before the treatment?

You will need to come into the salon for a ‘patch test’ at least 48 hours before the treatment. This is a great way for me to meet you and assess your eyebrows ready for your microblading treatment.

I will also be asked to read through the ‘Pre-care’ information before the treatment starts, which you can find here (Click this link!)

Can I bring someone along with me when I have a treatment?

To reduce possible infection, the number of people inside the room during treatment is kept to a minimum.

How long will the effects last?

As with any procedure, results do depend on the individual. Typically Microblading can last up to four years but will naturally fade away. Colour boosts are usually desired every 1 to 2 years to keep your eyebrows looking perfect.

What happens after the treatment?

After care is essential. To prevent infection and maximise the effects of your new eyebrows, I will give aftercare advice and coconut oil to take home with you. To view the aftercare advice, please (Click Here!)

At first your eyebrows might be slightly darker, but they will fade around 30%.

Where is the treatment performed?

Your Microblading treatment will take place at Katie’s salon, The Parlour Hair and Beauty, in her Microblading treatment room which is licensed under Shropshire Council. Consultations can be by phone, Zoom or FaceTime.

Can I wear makeup to the treatment?

It is a great idea to wear your eyebrow makeup on the day as it provides me with an indication as to how you do your brows. After the procedure you won’t need your eyebrow pencil anymore.

How long does a treatment take?

Normally a treatment would take an hour and a half (1.5 hours).

How many treatments do I need?

To complete your brows you will need an initially treatment, then a top up treatment 4 – 6 weeks after. Where I will go over any little patches, or you may want your eyebrows darkened after the initial fading process.
